Is Your Marketing Head in the Clouds, or Are Your Feet Firmly Planted on the Ground?

Is your marketing head in the clouds, or are your feet firmly planted on the ground? I’m partial to both. (Is that an oxymoron?) Without big-picture strategy and a viable and profitable growth model in mind, those lousy feet tend to wander hither and tither.

As Yogi said, “If you don’t know where you are going, you might wind up someplace else.”

The more feet you have, the more directions they will go, off in their own preferred direction.

Yes, these questions and their answers are often overlooked in the hustle-bustle velocity of our hyper-demanding world.

  1. Where are we today?
  2. Where do we want to go?
  3. How are we going to get there?

I contend that if a company’s leaders don’t know the answers to these questions, if they don’t have a viable and profitable growth strategy in mind, then neither do their teams. Everyone will probably end up someplace else.
